Amaru community ~ Peru

After 2 years of hard work we finally made it ! Peru. In 2009, I was directing a cultural exchange project in Peru. Along with 12 teenagers and my co-director, we left France for a month to go live among the 1000 people of the Amaru Community. The Amaru communty is living in the Andes cordillera at 4000m alt. Amaru people chose to live away from the cities and urbanization, violence and hard lives. They reconnected with ancestral knowledges and inca traditional agriculture. Their wealth reside in the culture and traditions that they are trying to perpetuate through generations. By letting us contribute to the everyday life and to volunteer in the locals schools, we had the amazing chance to be part of the Amaru Community for a while. .
