During my Lao explorations in summer 2010 and 2012, I met a monk in Vientiane, who invited me for a ceremony and explained it all about bouddhism. I photographed kids jumping in the mekong river for an entire afternoon. I got offered a cigarette by an hermit, watch fishermen in the sunset and chess players on a beach at the delta of the mekong. I had an instant crush on Laos. Twice. Laos brings you back to what really matters, a simple and quiet life, surrounded by nature and the most welcoming people of all.
